Steve Foote (CMC), the founder of The Columbia Consulting Group, is an acknowledged expert in leadership and management development. He has 25 years experience in management consulting, executive education design, development and presentation, and financial management. Steve specializes in assisting organizations to: develop and implement strategic plans; develop leadership and management skills; enhance management team performance; and implement transformation change.
Steve is the pioneer in developing computer-based, industry-specific leadership and management learning simulations. These custom-developed simulations are being used by companies around the world to provide their current and potential leaders, managers and supervisors with the skills and experience they need to succeed.
Prior to forming The Columbia Consulting Group in 1990, Steve was Senior Vice President and Board Director of Sterling Institute, an international consulting and executive development company. While with Sterling Institute, he specialized in consulting with service sector firms and in designing and presenting management and marketing training programs for senior executives.
Before joining Sterling Institute, Steve was a Director for Deloitte Consulting. While with Deloitte, he directed the firm's consulting team assigned to President Reagan's Private Sector Survey on Cost Control (The Grace Commission). He also consulted on the development of strategic plans and management systems for the U.S. Navy, the Baltimore Sun, Singer, Bell Atlantic, Alexander & Alexander, the Ministry of Education, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (University of Petroleum and Minerals), and the World Bank.
Earlier in his career, Steve was a bank controller and Trust Officer, a lecturer in corporate finance and investment policy at the Hood College Graduate School of Business, and a recording artist for Columbia Pictures Records.
Steve has written extensively on leadership, management and organizational performance issues.
CMC (Certified Management Consultant) is the certification mark awarded by the Institute of Management Consultants USA and represents evidence of the highest standards of consulting and adherence to the ethical canons of the profession.
